With a combination of championship links & inland courses together with some very fine clubs that boast first class on-site accommodation this region offers offer something for everyone. The Belfry in the heart of England is renowned for its several time hosting of the Ryder Cup, whilst Royal Porthcawl, Royal St Davids and Aberdovey on the Welsh coast offer some great links golf. Add to these a selection of some great venues at which to stay and play, including Ryder Cup candidate Celtic Manor, and you have a fine selection from which to choose.

9 Aberdovey Golf Club
In different eras both Bernard Darwin and Ian Woosnam have been captivated by this classic links that first saw golf being played in 1880. A traditional layout of out and in the course wends its way through the sand dunes and ever present Atlantic breeze being both a foe and a friend. Worth the journey!

10 Royal St David's Golf Club
Set in the shadow of the imposing Harlech Castle, built in the 13th century by Edward 1st of 'Braveheart' infamy, Royal St Davids is rated by many as the world's hardest par 69. A classic links course with hardly 2 holes going in the same direction, well worth the journey!
